MATH 1530 Course Materials

This course requires the use of the following:  calculator (TI83 or 84);  textbook; CourseCompass/MyMathLab (Cc) Access Code; and Minitab Software.  Specific details for each of these are provided in the course syllabus. 

You have three options in securing these materials for the course. Be sure to carefully explore the financial obligations of each option before making a purchasing decision.

TI 83 or TI 84   You will need access to a TI-83/84 calculator.  These can be purchased for approximately $100 at Walmart/Target/OfficeMax and similar stores.

It may be more cost effective to purchase a used calculator from a friend, pawn shop or ebay.

In addition, you may wish to explore your options at www.rentcalculators.org (usually $9 per month+ shipping). Be sure to use the school code APSU37044 for a discount.

Textbook   A textbook bundle purchased from the APSU Bookstore will contain the textbook you need.   The e-book (pdf file of the textbook) will be included with the purchase of a MyMathLab/CourseCompass (MML/Cc)  Access code.   You may purchase a used textbook (see the syllabus for the name of the text, author and edition) from a vendor of your choice or a friend.
             
Cc Access Code   A textbook bundle purchased from the APSU Bookstore will contain the access code you need.   You will need to purchase a MML/Cc access code as a stand alone item.  It can be purchased directly from www.coursecompass.com for approximately $65 using a credit card or paypal.   You will need to purchase a MyMathLab/CourseCompass (MML/Cc) access code as a stand alone item.  It can be purchased directly from www.coursecompass.com for approximately $65 using a credit card or paypal.
             
Minitab Software   A textbook bundle purchased from the APSU Bookstore will contain a disk for installing Minitab on one personal computer.   You will need to rent Minitab Software approximately $30 from http://www.minitab.com/education/semesterrental/ OR be able to go to the Fort Campbell Army Education Learning Center or APSU Main Campus Library Computer Lab to complete the 4 Minitab projects that will be assigned.   You will need to rent Minitab Software for approximately $30 from http://www.minitab.com/education/semesterrental/ OR be able to go to the Fort Campbell Army Education Learning Center or APSU Main Campus Library Computer Lab to complete the 4 Minitab projects that will be assigned.
