Computer Science 3200 Section w1 (online) and 08 Principles of Information Security ( 11:10- 12:35 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday)

This course is an introduction to the technical and management aspects of information security and assurance. Topics include understanding issues associated with security in computing including security threats and controls, protection of computer systems and data, use of technology such as firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems, response to security incidents,  laws and ethics relating to information security, and an overview of the development of an Information Security Plan.

This course is a Web enhanced class or Section W1 is an online class. The on-ground class is taught in CX 306 or online  but assignments and materials can be found in D2L. Students should come to all classes and also will need to go to https://elearn.apsu.edu to login and find course materials such as syllabus, assignments, and quizzes.

Computer Science 3400 Section W1 (online) and 07 Computer Organization I (11:15 -12:10 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

Basic Digital circuits, Boolean algebra and combinational circuits, data representation and transfer, digital arithmetic, digital storage and accessing, control functions, input/output facilities, system organization and reliability, computer structure and programming at the machine language and assembler language level.

Computer Science 4940 Section 88 Internship in Information Technology

This is a work/study course in Information Technology; student work in an appropriate position and on an appropriate project in information technology for an assigned employer; work project is under direction system evaluation, system review.
