Math 1710 - College Algebra

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is a course in college-level algebra.  It covers those topics that are essential to an understanding of advanced mathematics courses as well as courses in the natural and social sciences and business.  The course should help you to think systematically and enhance your problem solving abilities.  The course will cover portions of the first six chapters in the textbook, College Algebra with Modeling and Visualization, 3rd Edition. 

OBJECTIVES

  1. This course should help students
    1. develop general statistical skills that will better equip students to use statistics and logical thinking to understand and analyze problems, and
    2.  foster an appreciation for the need to consider logical, step-by-step procedures in the approach to solving problems.
